Abstract

The invention discloses a method for improving a propagation coefficient of Lotos subgenus water nymph. The method comprises the following steps: placing a cleaned and sterilized dormant bulb in a water tank with a water level of 15-20cm or another container for culturing the dormant bulb in water, wherein a water temperature is controlled to be 24-32 DEG C, and illumination with illuminance of 3000-8000lx is provided for above 8h every day; when a plantlet germinated from the dormant bulb grows 1-2 leaves and has more than four adventitious roots, immediately transplanting the plantlet; then re-placing the dormant bulb in the water tank for continuously culturing, germinating a new plantlet on the dormant bulb, and re-transplanting when the plantlet grows to reach the standard; and repeating the steps until ending at the last ten-day period of September. According to the method, 11.65 plantlets can be obtained averagely from one dormant bulb in one year, and are above 5 times that of a conventional seedling culturing method. Compared with the conventional seedling culturing method, the method has the characteristics of high propagation coefficient, high seedling survival rate and cost saving, and is easy and simple to operate.
