Abstract

The invention discloses a filter element used for culturing microalgae and used in a microalgae air purifier. The filter element is in a cuboid porous loose structure, wherein a plurality of irregularly-distributed pores are formed among the surfaces of the filter element. Pipes among the pores are interlacedly arranged. The pores are 0.01-7 mm in pore sizes and the filter element is not less than 50% in porosity. The size of the filter element is matched with the size of an algae-storing tank in the microalgae air purifier. A main material of the porous loose structure filter element is any one from foam aluminum, sponge, loofah sponge or foam nickel. The filter element ensures the microalgae to enter the filter element and to be adhered on an inner layer of the filter element, so that the microalgae can growth freely in the pores of the filter element and is free of completely blocking the pores in the filter element. When the microalgae in the filter element grow too much and grow at outer surface of the filter element, the microalgae can be scraped away through a scraping plate for other use. By means of this manner to collect the microalgae, the filter element is simple and high-efficient, is simple to use and is less in energy consumption.
