Problems solved by technology

This architecture can increase the scale of wireless access in large-scale application scenarios with dense population (such as enterprise-level deployment scenarios). However, it still has the following problems: First, in large-scale application scenarios with dense population, the deployment of cellular areas Dense, even if two same-frequency cellular areas are separated by non-same-frequency cellular areas, the distance between them is very limited
However, terminals are sequential when they are actively scanning, that is, interruptions often start scanning from low-frequency channels. Under this mechanism, terminals are often crowded on low-frequency channels, resulting in difficulty and overhead for channel load optimization. significantly increased
Finally, in the currently widely used 2.4GHz wireless environment, the channel switching declaration function of the 802.11h specification is not supported to control the channel of the terminal; and in the 5GHz wireless environment, not all devices support the 802.11h protocol specification. As a result, it is more difficult for the centralized management device to switch the channel used by the terminal, and it is even impossible to switch the channel of some terminals, which in turn limits the ability of load balancing

Embodiment Construction

[0051] According to an embodiment of the present invention, a channel load balancing system of a multi-channel wireless local area network is provided, including a controller and an AP. figure 1 A schematic diagram of deployment of a channel load balancing system of a multi-channel wireless local area network according to an embodiment of the present invention is shown, refer to figure 1 , the channel load balancing system of the multi-channel wireless local area network includes multiple APs: AP1, AP2, AP3, and AP4, all of which are deployed under the same gateway GW and connected to the controller CT through the gateway GW. The controller CT is deployed on the gateway and accesses the WLAN through the gateway. It should be noted, figure 1 It is only a deployment example of a channel load balancing system of a multi-channel wireless local area network, the number of controllers is not limited to one, and the deployment location is not unique. For example, there can be multi...

Abstract

The invention provides a channel load balancing system and method for a multi-channel wireless local area network. The system includes a controller connected to the wireless local area network and a plurality of access points arranged in N channels that are not in mutual interference. The access points are used for generating detection frame messages and uploading the messages to the controller when receiving detection frames sent by a terminal, wherein the detection frame messages include wireless signal header information and terminal MAC addresses. The access points are also used for sending responses of the detection frame to the terminal when receiving responding messages delivered by the controller and thereby establishing connection with the terminal. The controller is used for selecting the channels and the access points for access of the wireless local network of the terminal sending the original detection frame according to the detection frame messages uploaded by the access points. The invention also provides the corresponding channel load balancing method. According to the invention, WLAN channel load balance can be realized at a low cost. Besides, the system and method provided by the invention are accessible to terminals, so that promotion is facilitated.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the technical field of network access control, in particular, the invention relates to a channel load balancing system and method of a multi-channel wireless local area network. Background technique [0002] WLAN (Wireless Local Area Networks, Wireless Local Area Network) is a local area network that uses radio waves as a data transmission medium for connection. The difference between wireless LAN and wired LAN is mostly determined by the sharing characteristics of the medium and the half-duplex working characteristics of the wireless network card. A simple WLAN consists of two types of devices: terminal and AP (Access Point, access point). A terminal is a device connected to a wireless LAN; an AP is a device that provides wireless workstations with access to wired LANs and from wired LANs to wireless workstations. [0003] In a large organization, WLAN may have hundreds or even thousands of APs to provide network services fo...
