Abstract

The invention provides a fingerprint identification method, a fingerprint identification apparatus and a terminal device thereof. The fingerprint identification method comprises steps of: transmitting an optical signal to an object to be detected; sensing and receiving an optical signal reflected by the object to be detected; converting the reflected optical signal into an electric signal and outputting the electric signal; receiving the electric signal and computing a pulse signal of the object to be detected according to a difference between the quality of the unreflected optical signal and the quality of the reflected optical signal in order to detect whether the object to be detected is a living body; and performing fingerprint identification verification after it is determined that the object to be detected is the living body. According to a principle that human blood reflects and absorbs light, the method detects the difference between the quality of the unreflected optical signal and the quality of the reflected optical signal so as to compute the pulse signal of the object to be detected and further determine whether the object to be detected is the living body, thereby solving a problem of a potential safety hazard that a prosthetic finger may be used for being subjected to identity identification by a conventional fingerprint identification apparatus.
