The method comprises the steps of obtaining line condition parameters and model selection rule parameters input by a user; calculating spans of pole towers in need of model selection through location information of the pole towers in a line path diagram; selecting pole tower models which correspond to the pole towers and are matched with the line condition parameters, the model selection rule parameters and the spans from a pole tower database, and demarcating the pole towers according to the pole tower models. According to the scheme of the pole tower model selection method and device, in the pole tower model selection process, after the line condition parameters and the model selection rule parameters input by the user are obtained and the spans of the pole towers in need of model selection are calculated out, the line condition parameters, the model selection rule parameters and the spans are automatically matched with data content in the database, the pole tower models matched with the line condition parameters, the model selection rule parameters and the spans can be obtained, therefore by means of the model selection process, workload of the user is effectively lowered, the model selection efficiency is improved, and the model selection result is unified.
