Embodiment Construction

[0054] figure 1 Shown is an interference-capable thin-layer composite according to the invention in the form of a 3-layer composite comprising: a partially transmissive layer 1 with voids 5; and a reflective layer 3 with a plurality of voids 4 arranged in a grid pattern . A dielectric layer 2 is provided over the entire area between the partially transmissive layer 1 and the reflective layer 3 .

[0055] An observer looking at the security element from the side of the partially transmissive layer 1 perceives a color tilt effect in the incident light (or reflected light) in the area outside the void 5 . Thus, when the security element is tilted from green to red, the color of the thin-film composite changes, for example, from green to red. In the region of the cutout 5 the observer perceives the reflective layer 3 to be gray, for example, at almost all viewing angles. However, if, for example, the void 5 is configured in the form of the number "50", then the observer, when t...

Abstract

The invention relates to a security element of at least one thin layer element in form of a multi-layer composition, capable of interference. The multi-layer composition, capable of interference, consists of at least one reflecting layer, at least one partially transmitting layer and at least one dielectric layer arranged between these layers. According to the invention the security element comprises in a first region a multitude of gaps in the reflecting layer and in a second region at least one gap or a multitude of gaps in the partially transmitting layer. Herein the second region is arranged at least partially within the first region and the total area of the second region, which is at least partially arranged within the first region, is smaller than the total area of the first region. Therefore the security element displays, when viewed from the partially transmitting layer, a different appearance in top view than in transmission view.

Description

[0001] This application is a divisional application of a Chinese patent application with an application date of May 28, 2009, an application number of 200980121879.2, and an invention titled "safety element with an optically variable element". technical field [0002] The invention relates to a security element having at least one thin-layer element in the form of an interference-capable multilayer composite. The interference-capable multilayer composite comprises at least one reflective layer, at least one partially transmissive layer and at least one dielectric layer arranged between these layers. Background technique [0003] To protect against forgery, in particular using color copiers or other reproduction methods, data carriers such as banknotes or cards are equipped with a security element having at least one interfering multilayer composite. The protection against counterfeiting is therefore based on the fact that the visually and simply and clearly recognizable opti...
