Abstract

The invention discloses an atomizing nozzle which has a smaller front end face capable of being inserted into a medical catheter with a small diameter. The characteristic dimensions such as the cross section diameter of a main body of a better atomizing nozzle is smaller than 0.2 inch (0.5 cm). The main body of the nozzle is normally connected to an extension part, and the extension part has transverse flexibility so that one nozzle main body can penetrate through a pipe body along a non-linear access. The nozzle main body is generally connected to the extension part through a lap joint portion correlated with the nozzle main body. According to the better atomizing nozzle, a D<e>/O specific value smaller than 12.0, a D/O specific value smaller than about 18 and a D/D<e> specific value smaller than about 1.1 are achieved. Another atomizing nozzle comprises a vortex chamber which is located on the upstream of a jet orifice and is adjacent to the jet orifice and a near-end chamber wall with a portion humidified through fluid, and the portion humidified through the fluid is at least close to one part of a dome or another curved surface.

Description

[0001] This application is a divisional application of the invention patent application named "small fluid atomizer" with application number 201080069763.1, and the filing date of the original application is October 20, 2010. technical field [0002] The present invention relates to atomizing nozzles and apparatus for spraying a therapeutic fluid in the form of a mist or dispersed small particles. Certain devices described herein are particularly suitable for use in devices that can be inserted through small-bore tubing for administering a nebulized fluid to a patient. Background technique [0003] The construction and operation of some operable atomizing nozzles has been described in US Patent 6,698,429, issued March 2, 2004 to Perry W. Croll et al., entitled "Medical Nebulizer". This patent specification is incorporated herein by reference. The inventors' previous work on small atomizing nozzles disclosed in this patent specification is the state of the art in the field o...
