The system comprises a two-position three-way solenoid valve and a control module connected with the two-position three-way solenoid valve. The two-position three-way solenoid valve is in series connection with a loop between a hand-braking handle and a relay valve. The relay valve is connected with a parking brake. According to the method, hill start assistance is conducted on the vehicle through the hill start assisting system. By the adoption of the system and the method, automatic coordination of clutch engaging and hand braking release through the hill start assisting system is achieved, the phenomenon of slide or flameout of an AMT vehicle during hill start is avoided, and smooth and steady start of the vehicle on a ramp is achieved; safety and simplicity are achieved, and engineering realization is easy; the system and the method can be applied to design of any hill start assisting control system of the load-carrying vehicle carrying an AMT, so that the pavement adaptability of the vehicle is improved.
