Abstract

The invention provides a method and a device for automatically adjusting brightness and chroma of a display device. The method for automatically adjusting brightness and chroma of the display device comprises the steps of according to a color coordinate of a target white picture and a measured color coordinate and a measured brightness of a maximal gray scale picture of each single-color picture of a display device to be adjusted, obtaining a target brightness of the maximal gray scale picture of each single-color picture; obtaining a target T value of a random gray scale picture of each single-color picture according to the target brightness of the maximal gray scale picture of each single-color picture, the measured brightness of a least gray scale picture and a target gamma curve; finding out a register parameter which corresponds with the calibrated target T value from a pre-established correspondence table between the register parameter and T values; and writing the register parameter into the display device to be calibrated for adjusting the chroma and the gamma curve of the white picture. The method and the system according to the invention have advantages of realizing no requirement for manual adjustment, reducing adjusting time, and performing accurate adjustment on the brightness and chroma of the display device according to a user requirement.
