Abstract

A sketch-type three-dimensional modeling method based on image outline automatic fitting comprises the steps of reading a two-dimensional design drawing of a three-dimensional model, and automatically identifying a contour line of the two-dimensional design drawing; drawing an enclosed two-dimensional sketch contour line on a computer screen by using a mouse, a drawing pen or finger; automatically fitting the two-dimensional sketch contour line onto the contour line of the two-dimensional design drawing according to shape characteristics of the two-dimensional sketch contour line and positional relationship thereof with the contour line of the two-dimensional design drawing; automatically fitting the two-dimensional sketch contour line into a cubic spline curve; modifying the shape of the cubic spline curve by moving, adding or deleting control top points of the cubic spline curve, enabling the shape of the two-dimensional sketch contour line to fit the contour line of the two-dimensional design drawing better, and thus obtaining a desired shape of the three-dimensional model; and automatically generating a three-dimensional grid model of uniform grids according to the contour line of the three-dimensional model. The method can be used for achieving intelligent, accurate and quick design of a three-dimensional model.
