Abstract

The invention discloses a real-time image data receiving fault-tolerant method for accidental bus bandwidth insufficiency. The method comprises the followings steps: (1) converting image data from an image receiving clock domain to a bus clock domain and storing the converted image data by utilizing an asynchronous FIFO (First In First Out); (2) when a cache FIFO is in a writeable state, reading the image data from the asynchronous FIFO and writing the image data to the cache FIFO by utilizing a fault-tolerant processing control module; and when both the asynchronous FIFO and the cache FIFO are in a full state, reading the image data from the asynchronous FIFO and discarding the read image data by utilizing the fault-tolerant processing control module; and (3) when the bus bandwidth is normal, reading the image data from the cache FIFO and writing the read image data in a bus by utilizing a bus writing controller. According to the method, a few data which cannot be timely received and the corresponding addresses of the data are discarded, so that the shortcomings that the frame rate of the received images is too low and the system is frequently reset are overcome.
