This storage battery system is connected to a power grid and operates on the basis of charging / discharging requests from an EMS. The storage battery system is provided with: a storage battery; a BMU that monitors the state of the storage battery by means of a first sensor; a PCS that executes charging of the storage battery and discharging of the storage battery by referring to the output values of the first sensor and a second sensor of the same type; and a control device. The control device is configured in a manner so as to receive the charging / discharging requests and storage battery information supplied from the BMU, and to control the PCS on the basis of the charging / discharging requests and the storage battery information. An abnormality detection unit of the control device acquires the output value of the second sensor from the PCS, and detects a sensor abnormality from the results of comparing the output value of the first sensor and the output value of the second sensor contained in the storage battery information.
