Abstract

The invention provides a self-adaptive access mechanism based on active node estimation in a wireless Mesh network, so as to improve the network throughput and a situation that fairness for channel access of nodes is limited. The self-adaptive access mechanism introduces the ''active nodes'', and estimates number of the active nodes in the network through detecting free timeslot of a channel, so as to deduce the optimal transmission probability of the nodes when the network reaches saturated throughput, and increase the network throughput through dynamically adjusting an initial contention window value; and when a conflict occurs, a retransmission adjustment factor is introduced to improve the fairness between nodes, a retransmission factor is calculated according to number of the active nodes and retransmission times, and a retransmission contention window value is set reasonably by means of the retransmission factor so as to reduce loss of data packets, thereby increasing success rate of retransmission access. The self-adaptive access mechanism can effectively improve performance of the wireless Mesh network in aspects such as throughput, fairness and packet loss rate, and is a feasible access control method for the wireless Mesh network.
