Abstract

The method comprises the steps: storing a lookup table which comprises data representing a needed drive amount for converting a residual polarized state of a pixel into each gray level; receiving the data representing an expected gray level of the pixel; generating an output signal representing a drive amount to be applied to the pixel, and enabling the pixel to be converted into a saturated polarized state from a current gray level; generating an output signal representing drive amount to be applied to the pixel, and enabling the pixel to be converted into a residual polarized state from the saturated polarized state; searching the data of the drive amount needed for the conversion from the residual polarized state to the saturated polarized state from the lookup table; and generating an output signal representing the drive amount to be applied to the pixel according to the data, searched I the lookup table, of the drive amount.
