The evaporator is arranged to exchange heat with air flowing through the evaporator so as to provide cooling airflow for the storage chambers. At least a part of the cold end of the semiconductor refrigeration assembly is in hot connection with one or more storage chambers to deliver cold flow of the cold end to the storage chambers, and the hot end of the semiconductor refrigeration assembly is in hot connection with the evaporator to deliver hot flow of the hot end to the evaporator. The invention further provides the defrosting method of the refrigerator. The defrosting method comprises the steps that a defrosting signal is generated according to the working condition parameters of the refrigerator; the semiconductor refrigeration assembly is started to enable the cold end and the hot end to separately generate the cold flow and the hot flow; and the cold flow of the cold end is delivered to one or more storage chambers to restrain the temperature fluctuation of the storage chambers, and the hot flow of the hot end is delivered to the evaporator to conduct defrosting operation on the evaporator.
