Abstract

The invention discloses a power supply system and a power supply method for railways in desert areas based on wind-photovoltaic complementary power generation in order to solve the problem that power generated from photovoltaic and wind energy is volatile and cannot be supplied continuously. The system comprises photovoltaic arrays and fans. The system further comprises a photovoltaic DC influx line, a wind DC influx line, and DC overhead equipment. The photovoltaic arrays are connected to the run-through DC overhead equipment through the photovoltaic DC influx line. The fans are connected to the run-through DC overhead equipment through the wind DC influx line. Wind energy and photovoltaic energy systems are constructed in expanded safety protection zones along railways to realize comprehensive utilization of land. By changing the traditional wind-driven and photovoltaic power generation and boosting modes and employing a DC collection scheme for both photovoltaic energy and wind energy, the inverting process of new energy is reduced, and the harmonic component is reduced. The AC overhead equipment of a railway locomotive is changed into DC overhead equipment, power is supplied to a DC traction motor directly after being taken from the overhead equipment, and balanced consumption of new energy is achieved.
