Abstract

In a linear vibration motor in which vibration in the thickness direction is restricted, the present invention causes vibration with large thrust while ensuring adequate weight of the balance weight. The linear vibration motor (1) is provided with: a coil (4) supported on a bottom plate (3) that faces an upper surface section (2A) of a case (2) and wound along a plane that intersects with the bottom plate (3); a magnetic pole section (10) by which thrust in the up-down direction is obtained from current flowing in the coil (4); a balance weight (6) that vibrates as a unit with the magnetic pole section (10); and an elastic member (7) for supporting the balance weight (6) on the upper surface section (2A) of the case (2) so that the balance weight can vibrate freely up and down.
