Abstract

The system comprises a broadband light source (1), a polarization controller (2), a vector network analyzer (3), an electro-optical modulator (4), an optical fiber circulator (5), an optical fiber splitter (6), an end face type fiber refractive index sensor array (7) and a detector (9), wherein the end face type fiber refractive index sensor array (7) is constructed by partitioning a plurality of end face type fiber refractive index sensors (8) into a plurality of paths through the optical fiber splitter (6); each end face type fiber refractive index sensor (8) is made by welding one end of a single-mode optical fiber and an optical fiber coated with a dielectric film and stripping the other end. Through a measuring method combining optical signals with microwave signals, signals are partitioned into a plurality of paths and signals on two reflective end faces of the sensors in each path are acquired, so that the aim of measuring the refractive index is fulfilled, the power fluctuation factor of the light source is avoided, and the stability of the system is enhanced.
