Abstract

The invention relates to a visual field boundary generating method for wide-angle cameras having overlapped visual fields. A back-projection manner is employed, the visual field boundary of a corrected image is projected back to a wide-angle image. The visual field boundary generating method comprises following steps of firstly correcting a distorted image by means of a Zhengyou Zhang calibration method and a polynomial distortion correction model, deleting mismatching by extracting SIFT characteristic points and by means of RANSAC algorithm, achieving image registration on two adjacent images, generating a visual field boundary in a corrected image by means of an averaging method, and finally projecting the visual field boundary back to a wide-angle image by means of a corresponding relational expression of image pixel coordinates before and after distortion correction. Aiming at the problem that distortion is lead into a distortion camera, and therefore a conventional analysis method is not suitable, an inverse mapping method is employed to accurately obtain the visual field boundary in the distortion image, and the visual field boundary generating method has an important application value for achieving target handoff of wide-angle cameras having overlapped visual fields.
