[0024] According to an aspect of the present invention, an optical vital sign sensor based on a photoplethysmographic PPG sensor is provided. This PPG sensor as figure 1 shown. The light source emits light onto or into the user's skin 1000 , and some of the light is reflected, and the reflected light may be detected by the light detector 120 . The output of the light detectors can be analyzed to determine the user's heart rate or other vital signs.
