Abstract

The invention provides a new application of chlorothalonil in preparation of drugs for killing snails and belongs to the technical field of bilharziasis control. A molluscicide is prepared from a chlorothalonil active ingredient; the dosage form of the molluscicide is selected from a suspending agent, an emulsion and a micro-emulsion; and the molluscicide is used for killing the snails. When the chlorothalonil is taken as the active ingredient of the molluscicide, the usage amount is 1.00-10.00mg / L, and the immersion-killing time is 48h. The inventors prove that the chlorothalonil has killing activity on the snails and can be prepared into the molluscicide applied to the field of bilharziasis control through experiments.
