The charging circuit comprises the current protection circuit and a charging control circuit; the power supply end of the charging control circuit is connected with a voltage source while the output end is connected with a to-be-charged device; the charging control circuit comprises an external resistor; the external resistor is connected between a connecting pin of the charging control circuit and a grounding end; the external resistor is used for setting the charging current output by the charging control circuit; when the external resistor is in a normal state, the current protection circuit does not act and the charging current output by the charging control circuit is set by the external resistor; and when the external resistor is in an abnormal state, or when the connecting pin connected with the external resistor suffers from short circuit, the charging current output by the charging control circuit is set by the current protection circuit. Compared with the prior art, the current protection circuit is additionally provided, so that when the external resistor is in an abnormal state or when the connecting pin connected with the external resistor suffers from short circuit, the charging current can be limited by the current protection circuit, thereby avoiding damage of a chip.
