Abstract

The invention discloses a method for refining high-purity quartz sand from ordinary quartz sand, which mainly comprises the working procedures of rough selection, first calcination, water quenching, comminution, magnetic separation, electric separation, second calcination, rinsing, pickling, cleaning, drying and the like. Before the second calcination, salt is mixed with the ordinary quartz sand to generate corresponding acid, and the temperature and calcining time are adjusted to make the salt react to form acidic gas for being diffused into the surface cracks or pores of the quartz sand; thequartz sand is rinsed, and then the quartz sand is placed in an organic pickling solution added with a specific chelating agent; the process disclosed by the invention can remove impurities such as iron and aluminum more completely, and finally, high-purity quartz sand with the SiO2 content being larger than or equal to 99.95% and ferric oxide content being less than or equal to 20ppm is preparedfrom the ordinary quartz sand with the SiO2 content being less than or equal to 99.8% and the ferric oxide content being larger than or equal to 200ppm.
