Abstract

The invention discloses a switching power supply output filter capacitor device and method. The switching power supply output filter capacitor device comprises a trigger circuit, a voltage measuring circuit and a processing module. An input end of the trigger circuit is connected to a control signal end of a switching power supply module to be tested, and an output end is connected to a signal input end of the voltage measuring circuit. A measuring input end of the voltage measuring circuit is connected to an output end of a filter capacitor of the switching power supply module to be tested, and a measuring output end is connected to the processing module. Therefore, upon receiving a first jump edge signal and a second jump edge signal, the trigger circuit generates a first trigger signaland a second trigger signal; the voltage measuring circuit can sample and measure the output voltage of the filter capacitor separately upon receiving the first trigger signal and the second trigger signal, to obtain a first output voltage signal and a second output voltage signal; and through the processing of the processing module, the capacity of the filter capacitor and ESR can be obtained. Thus, the monitoring circuit is dramatically simplified and the monitoring cost is reduced.
