The method comprises the following steps: acquiring a first time headway of a target lane stop line position, and generating a first time headway sequence of a current green light period; and when a value in the first time headway sequence is discrete, determining a maximum queuing length of the green light periodaccording to a position of the discrete value in the first time headway sequence. The method provided by the invention applies a vehicle dissipation rule; vehicles standing in a queue start to dissipate successively from stop states, thereby forming continuous variables; and when a driving state of a next vehicle at the tail of the queue, not in the queue, does not conform to the vehicle dissipation rule, a discrete variable is generated, so that the position of the discrete variable is the position of a vehicle at the tail of the queue, and the maximum queuing length can be determined. The vehicle queuing length calculated by the method is more accurate and more reliable; and the technical problems of low accuracy and low reliability of an existing queuing length calculation method are relieved.
