A method for manufacturing a rail vehicle coupler head core includes the steps of providing a first core box having an inner wall at least partially delimiting a peripheral boundary of at least one rotor core cavity . The method also includes at least partially filling at least one rotor core cavity with a first sand resin to form at least one rotor core. The method also includes providing a second core box having an inner wall at least partially delimiting a perimeter boundary of the at least one head core cavity. At least one rotor core is positioned within the second core box. The method also includes at least partially filling the at least one head core cavity with a second sand resin to form the at least one head core.
