The motion synthesis array-based multi-source DOA estimation method comprises the following steps of (1) acquiring L segments of data by a motion array according to a period T, wherein each segment of data comprises N snapshots; (2) performing characteristic decomposition on covariance matrix of two adjacentsegments of data to obtain a noise sub-space, building a two-dimension spectral function, and obtaining a group of phase correction factors and an initial DOA estimation value by two-dimension searching or dimension-reduction searching; (3) continuously performing the step (2) on the L segments of data to obtain (L-1) groups of phase correction factors; and (4) performing characteristic decomposition on covariance matrix of total L segments of data to obtain a total noise sub-space, compensating an array flow pattern according to the phase correction factors obtained in the step (3), constructing a spectral function for synthesizing the array, and searching the spectral function to obtain the DOA estimation value.
