Abstract

The invention discloses an image decoding method and system, a host, a computer readable storage medium and an image processing system. The method comprises the following steps of sending a compressedimage to a cache of an FPGA, and setting decoding parameters of the FPGA; sending a decoding command to the FPGA in order to enable the FPGA to carry out decoding operation on the compressed image byusing the decoding parameters; and receiving an original image sent by the FPGA after decoding operation of the compressed image. According to the image decoding method provided by the invention, a general processor, namely a CPU, serves as a main program runs on the host, the FPGA serves as a hardware acceleration unit for carrying out a PCX image decoding algorithm of a coprocessor, the degreeof parallelism of the algorithm is improved through an optimization mode of parallel flow, the execution performance of the PCX image decoding core algorithm can be effectively improved, and the throughput rate performance when the algorithm is executed is improved.
