Abstract

The laser headlight is provided with a polarization beam splitting prism, wherein a laser light source is arranged on an incident surface of the polarization beam splitting prism, and a reflector is arranged on a light transmission path of the polarization beam splitting prism. The laser generated by the laser light source is converted into white light by a fluorescent layer and then irradiated to the polarization beam splitting prism, wherein P polarized light in the white light isirradiated to the reflector through the polarization beam splitting prism and is reflected by the reflector and then irradiated to a road surface to form illumination. If a phosphor layer of a fluorescent screen falls off or is broken down by the laser, the non-converted laser is radiated to the polarization beam splitting prism directly. The laser, as S polarized light, is reflected totally by the polarization beam splitting prism, which avoids the laser radiating to the road surface through the reflector and causing damage to pedestrians, and achieves the passive safety protection. The laser safety protection method solves the problem that the laser headlight causes damage to human eyes due to laser leakage caused by the damage of the fluorescent layer.
