Abstract

The invention relates to application of the methylation level of a human SYNPO gene promoter region to preparation of a detection agent for detecting sperm motility. The human SYNPO gene promoter region is located in a region corresponding to sites 149978442-149981142 of the human fifth chromosome. Analysis and studies based on the results of methylation sequencing of the whole genome are performed, through verification, it is found that whether all methylation sites of the human SYNPO gene promoter region are methylated or not between patients with asthenozoospermia and healthy personnel is significantly different and can be used as a molecular marker to diagnose whether a subject has asthenozoospermia or not. When not all methylation sites in the region are methylated, the subject is more likely to have asthenozoospermia. The molecular marker can provide auxiliary evaluation information for the diagnosis of asthenozoospermia, and identify whether the subject has asthenozoospermia ornot combined with other diagnostic indicators.
