Embodiment Construction

[0020] With reference to the accompanying drawings, figure 1 An example of an operating environment 100 for tracking and traceability of product parts in accordance with one or more implementations of the present disclosure is presented. The illustrated operating environment 100 includes an industrial device 110 having hardware 114 that allows certain functions to be facilitated in other ways. Industrial facility 110 may include a set of machines and may implement or execute a defined industrial process that allows for product 116 to be formed from raw materials / components 112 . Product 116 may have the necessary components to provide one or more desired functions. Accordingly, product 116 may be referred to as a finished product. Product 116 may be implemented as a variety of industrial-wide objects, such as aircraft; automobiles; agricultural machinery; turbines; engines; industrial vibrators (eg, vibrating feeder devices); consumer electronics devices; or the like. The m...

Abstract

The invention relates to a computer-implemented method and system for tracking parts of a product and computer-program products. In some embodiments, the tracking and traceability generates streams ofsemantic data obtained from an imaging sensor system that records the execution of a manufacturing process in industrial equipment. The execution of the manufacturing process yields a finished product from initial materials and / or parts. The tracking and traceability also implements artificial reasoning about the execution of the manufacturing process to generate assertions that characterize theexecution of the manufacturing process. Semantic data and assertions can be aggregated into a digital trace record that tracks a defined component of the finished product throughout the execution of the manufacturing process and permit tracing the component to a defined event within the manufacturing process.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a computer implemented method, system and computer program product for tracking product components. Background technique [0002] In the manufacturing industry, tracking and traceability of components throughout their production life cycle from original component to final finished product is critical to efficient production and supply management. In some industrial sectors, such as the automotive sector, traceability of components from finished products is a legal requirement, as it allows manufacturers to pinpoint products in case of any recalls or other defects after the manufacturing process. Tracking and traceability are therefore important and necessary functions in most Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Production Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems. [0003] Common techniques for tracking and traceability features rely on manual sorting and / or labeling; barcode scanning; laser engraving of parts; attachin...
