The invention relates to a power assembly and an engine flying vehicle protective device and method. The engine flying vehicle protective device comprises a flywheel assembly and a clutch assembly. The flywheel assembly is arranged at the output end of an engine. The clutch assembly is arranged at the input end of a gearbox. The flywheel assembly and the clutch assembly are matched with each other. A flywheel abrasive disc of the flywheel assembly and a clutch abrasive disc of the clutch assembly are in compression fit and form an asymmetric damping structure, and thus the friction coefficientbetween the flywheel abrasive disc and the clutch abrasive disc during positive work output of the engine is larger than that between the flywheel abrasive disc and the clutch abrasive disc during braking of the engine. During application, when reverse towing power of a finished vehicle is higher than the braking power limiting value of the engine, a flywheel and a clutch slide relatively, thus the conditions that rotation speed of the engine is too high and exceeds use rotation speed allowed by engine design are avoided, then turning of an air valve, jacking to a piston due to the air valve,engine body destruction and other serious failures are avoided, and thus safety of the engine, the finished vehicle and a driver is protected.
