The license plate monitoring method comprises the steps of receiving a first license plate number, wherein the first license plate number is a license plate number obtained by performing license plate recognition by image acquisition equipment based on an acquired vehicle image, and the image acquisition equipment is snapshot equipment or data storage equipment which is local equipment together with the snapshot equipment; receiving a vehicle image corresponding to the first license plate numberunder the condition that the first license plate number belongs to an abnormal suspected license plate number; and acquiring a vehicle judgment result which is determined based on a second license plate number and relates to whether a vehicle in the vehicle image belongs to an abnormal vehicle or not according to the vehicle image, wherein the second license plate number is a license plate numberobtained by performing license plate recognition by license plate analysis equipment based on the vehicle image.
