The method comprises the steps of: acquiring a first snapshot image of atarget vehicle at a speed measurement starting point and a second snapshot image of the target vehicle at a speed measurement terminal point; performing image recognition on the first snapshot image and the second snapshot image, and determining a first distance between the target vehicle and a pre-calibrated speed measurement starting line and a second distance between the target vehicle and a pre-calibrated speed measurement ending line; determining the actual driving distance of the target vehicle based on the first distance, the second distance and the distance between the speed measurement starting line and the speed measurement ending line; and determining the driving speed of the target vehicle according to the actual driving distance and the driving time.
