Abstract

The invention relates to an electromechanical parking lock actuator for actuating a parking lock in a motor vehicle, the actuator comprising: an electric motor; a rotatable or pivotably mounted actuator shaft for directly or indirectly driving an actuating element acting on a pawl of the parking lock; a gear mechanism, wherein the actuator shaft is operably connected to the output shaft of the electric motor through the gear mechanism, the gear mechanism comprises two gear elements located in an operable connection chain between the output shaft of the electric motor and the actuator shaft, the first gear element is mounted to be movable between two positions, the first gear element is at least temporarily movable from a normal position, in which it is directly operably connected to the second gear element, to an emergency unlocking position, in which it is moved away from the second gear element at least sufficiently far to disconnect the operative connection.
