Abstract

The invention provides a preparation method of a red coloring composition for a color filter, which can inhibit sublimation caused by organic pigment and can obtain a color filter with excellent contrast and brightness. The method comprises: a micro-granulation step of performing salt milling treatment on a diketopyrrolopyrrole pigment, a resin and a sulfonated product of a diketopyrrolopyrrole compound to obtain a micro-granulated pigment; and an ink grinding step in which a mixture containing the fine particulate pigment and a sulfonated product of a compound having an azo group and a naphthol skeleton is subjected to ink grinding. The resin has a maleimide skeleton and a sulfonic acid group.
