Problems solved by technology

In extreme cases in actual work, the output beam intensity of the main accelerator (SSC) may be very low, even down to the nA level. The traditional current intensity detection system will not be sensitive enough because the background noise is close to the μA level. , so that it is impossible to detect the current intensity of the ion beam in this limit
For such a very weak ion beam, most of the existing detection methods use beam interception detection, which completely blocks the beam from advancing, which is not conducive to the debugging of the accelerator system and will affect its normal experimental process.

Abstract

The invention belongs to the technical field of ion beam detection in accelerators, and relates to a current intensity detection system for weak beam current. The current intensity detection system comprises a detection cavity, a detection probe, a high-resistance amplifier, a band-pass filter, an adjustable amplification attenuation module group and a frequency spectrograph, wherein the detection probe is arranged in the detection cavity and is used for detecting a weak beam signal; the high-resistance amplifier is arranged on the outer side of the detection cavity and is used for amplifying the weak beam signal; the band-pass filter receives the amplified signal and filters out low-frequency interference noise and high-frequency harmonic waves in the amplified signal; the adjustable amplification attenuation module group is used for controlling the amplitude of the filtered signal within a preset range by controlling the working mode of an attenuator, and transmitting the signal within the preset range to the frequency spectrograph; and the frequency spectrograph is used for obtaining the current intensity of the weak beam current according to the signal in the preset range. The system does not need to stop the advancing of a beam, can generate an effective signal for an nA-level beam, and meets the requirements of high sensitivity, low cost and the like.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a current intensity detection system for weak beams, belonging to the technical field of ion beam detection in accelerators. Background technique [0002] For the overall device of the accelerator, the beam diagnosis system is one of the extremely important systems. As the eyes of the accelerator, it provides feedback to the user through the measurement of various indicators of the beam, so as to realize the stable operation of the machine as a whole. Accelerator laboratories at home and abroad attach great importance to the research and application of beam diagnostic systems, and among them, the detection of beam current intensity is one of the most basic and important researches of the whole system. [0003] At present, the current intensity detection of ion beams with relatively low beam current intensity usually uses a Faraday cup or an alternating current transformer (ACCT) for detection. In extreme cases in actual work, ...
