Abstract

In a method for operating a textile machine (1), the textile machine has a plurality of stations (2) of the same type arranged next to one another. Each station is provided with an operation mechanism (3) with different energy consumption; by means of a control unit (13) of the textile machine (1), the energy provided for the plurality of stations (2) as a whole is distributed to the respective stations (2) requiring the energy. A partial number of at least two stations (2) is determined from the plurality of stations (2) and at least one different operation mechanism (3) is selected. The at least one selected operation mechanism (3) of the partial number of stations (2) is then operated and the total consumption of the associated energy is measured. In addition, the total consumption of the relevant energy source is determined when the at least one selected operation mechanism (3) is shut down. The actual individual consumption of at least one selected operation mechanism (3) for each station (2) is determined from the determined total consumption and the difference between the partial number of stations (2).
