Abstract

The invention discloses a method for carrying out pseudo-color processing on a gray level image of a synthetic aperture radar and relates to image processing. The method comprises the following steps: 1) filtering an input SAR image to suppress speckle noise; 2) carrying out segmented coding on the gray value of the SAR image; and 3) carrying out RGB wave band combination to form a pseudo-color enhanced image. The image subjected to pseudo-color enhancement contains rich color information, is prominent in details and clear in texture, and has a good visual effect on both land and ocean. The time used by the method is similar to that used by rainbow coding pseudo-color processing, and is nearly four times faster than that used by a pixel self-transformation method. The invention is high in calculation efficiency, simple and practical. In addition, pseudo-color enhancement can be carried out on the SAR image, and the invention is also suitable for other gray-scale images with narrow gray-scale range and large noise, and has good universality.
