The manual-power-generation sterilizing drinking water container is characterized by further comprising a rotary disc, a sterilization module, a temperature measurement module, a power generation module, a power storage module, a gear set and an electric control module, wherein the rotary disc is rotatably arranged at the bottom of the container body and provided with an inner gear ring; the gear set is rotatably arranged on the outer side of the container body; one end of the gear set is meshed with the inner gear ring of the rotary disc; and the power output end of the gear set is connected with the power generation module. The invention further discloses a control method of the manual-power-generation sterilizing drinking water container. According to the invention, the manual power generation module is integrated to the bottom of the container body, so an external power source is not needed for charging or the container does not need to work with a power line; and no exposed interface such as a plug-in port exists, charging can be conducted anytime and anywhere, and thus, safety, reliability, energy conservation and environmental protection are achieved.
