Abstract

Disclosed is a battery module which can prevent an electrolyte from leaking to outside thereof when the electrolyte leaks. The battery module according to the present invention for achieving the above purpose comprises at least one cell assembly having a plurality of secondary batteries each of which has an electrode lead and which are stacked in one direction; a base plate positioned under the cell assembly and horizontally extending to support the lower portion of the cell assembly; and at least one base insulating member interposed between the cell assembly and the base plate and having a receiving part recessed downward to receive a part of the cell assembly.
