Abstract

The present invention relates to a multi-layer wound dressing for applying negative pressure to a wound. The dressing member includes a bioabsorbable layer for placement in contact with a wound; a fluid impermeable occlusive outer layer; a fluid porous transport layer positioned between the outer layer and the bioabsorbable layer; and a fluid conduit in fluid communication with the delivery layer for coupling to a negative pressure source. The delivery layer includes a plurality of fluid passages between the catheter and the bioabsorbable layer to allow fluid to pass through the layers of the dressing member to and from the bioabsorbable layer. The bioabsorbable layer includes a plurality of apertures to enable exudate flow from the wound to the delivery layer.
