Abstract

Provided are a distance measurement device and a distance measurement method which are capable of accurately measuring a distance even when multipath occurs. The invention provides a distance measuring device. The distance measuring device comprises a first transceiving unit, a second transceiving unit, a response information acquisition unit, a filter unit and a distance calculation unit, the first transmit-receive unit transmits a first pulse signal to the second transmit-receive unit while performing frequency scanning. The second transceiver unit receives the first pulse signal transmitted from the first transceiver unit. The response information acquisition unit acquires response information based on a phase difference obtained by receiving the first pulse signal. The filter unit extracts initial response information, which is response information of an initial reception portion of the first pulse signal, from the response information. The distance calculation unit calculates a group delay based on the initial response information, and calculates a distance between the first transceiver unit and the second transceiver unit by multiplying the group delay by the light velocity.
