The invention provides an arch dam temperature load applying method and system based on the heat conduction theory, and the method comprises the steps: dividing a dam body node into a plurality of upstream dam face node assemblies and a plurality of downstream dam face node assemblies along the elevation according to the shape parameters of an arch dam body; according to the temperature field condition of the arch dam body operation period, the upstream dam face temperature load of each upstream dam face node assembly and the downstream dam face temperature load of each downstream dam face node assembly are determined, the upstream dam face temperature load serves as the upstream temperature boundary condition, and the downstream dam face temperature load serves as the downstream temperature boundary condition; on the basis of the upstream temperature boundary conditions, the downstream temperature boundary conditions and dam body thermal parameters, dam body stable heat transfer finite element calculation is conducted, and the temperature load of each node in the arch dam body is determined; and the temperature load of each node in the arch dam body is applied to the corresponding position of the dam body, so that the difficulty of applying the temperature load is reduced, and the efficiency and the precision of applying the temperature load are improved.
