The method comprises the following steps: analyzing a fault of an inverter of a wind power generation system based on the wind power generation system to obtain fault data; performing empirical mode decomposition on the fault data, and calculating the fault data by using the empirical mode decomposition to obtain an IMF; solving the two optimal regularization parameters and a hyperfunction of the kernel function by adopting an improved fireworks algorithm; and according to the two optimal regularization parameters and the hyperfunction of the kernel function, using MLS-SVM to train data and performing fault diagnosis. Compared with an MLS-SVM fault diagnosis method, the improved fireworks algorithm is used for optimizing the MLS-SVM fault diagnosis method, and the accuracy of open-circuit fault diagnosis of the wind power grid-connected inverter can be effectively improved.
