An electronic brake system according to one embodiment comprises: an oil tank for storing a pressurized medium; a master cylinder that ejects a pressurizing medium in accordance with the pedaling force of the brake pedal; a hydraulic pressure supply device that activates a hydraulic piston to generate hydraulic pressure by means of an electric signal output in accordance with the displacement of the brake pedal; a hydraulic pressure control unit that is connected to the hydraulic pressure supply device and that controls the flow of hydraulic pressure transmitted to the wheel cylinders; a pedal simulator connected to the master cylinder and providing a reaction force against a brake pedal; a simulation valve that opens or closes an oil path connecting the master cylinder and the pedal simulator; a shut-off valve that opens or closes an oil path that connects the master cylinder and the hydraulic control unit; a pedal displacement sensor that detects displacement information of the brake pedal; a pressure sensor that detects pressure information of the pedal simulator; and a control unit that, when the shut-off valve is closed and the analog valve is opened, compensates a target pressure based on the brake pedal displacement on the basis of brake pedal displacement information detected by the pedal displacement sensor and pedal simulator pressure information detected by the pressure sensor, and drives the hydraulic pressure supply device on the basis of the compensated target pressure.
