Abstract

In one embodiment of the present invention, a solid-state battery is provided. This solid-state battery is characterized by being provided with: a battery element provided with one or more battery constituent units, each of which is provided with a positive electrode layer, a negative electrode layer, and a solid electrolyte layer interposed between the positive electrode layer and the negative electrode layer, in the lamination direction; external terminals, which are respectively connected with the lead-out parts of the positive electrode layer and the negative electrode layer, and are exposed in order to enable the external part to be electrically connected with the battery element; and a protective layer that covers the surface of the battery element such that each of the lead-out portions and each of the external terminals can be joined, the battery element having a buffer portion provided so as to surround at least one of the positive electrode layer and the negative electrode layer in a plan view. In the buffer part, at least a partial portion between the lead-out part forming side surface of the electrode layer and the external terminal is made of substantially the same resin-free insulating material as the protective layer.
