Problems solved by technology

Therefore, as shown in Figure 8, for example, because the S phase is a phase loss, when the coil of the electromagnetic switch MS is not supplied with normal voltage, the coil voltage does not reach the input voltage Eon, and a large coil current that is Pn times the rated current value is charged. But the electromagnetic switch MS is still in the off state

Embodiment Construction

[0028] First, a first embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIG. 1 . Figure 1 shows the main transformer of a welding machine inputting three-phase AC power, the electromagnetic switch for switching the primary side of the main transformer, and the control circuit for controlling the opening and closing of the electromagnetic switch.

[0029] First, the main transformer 1 is connected to the three-phase power supply through the three contacts MSa-1 of the electromagnetic switches of each phase. One phase of the three-phase power supply supplies power to the control circuit of the electromagnetic switch through the control power switch 2 . On the secondary side of the control power switch 2, the contact Ta of the open-circuit delay timer T, the coil of the electromagnetic switch MS, the b contact CR2b of the relay CR2, and the a contact CR1a-1 of the relay CR1 are connected in series, and the series circuit Connected between the secondary busb...

Abstract

A welder has an electromagnetic switch for turning on and off the power to be supplied to the welder, a control circuit for controlling the turn on and off of this switch according to a starter signal that starts the welder and self-holding circuit for self-holding the switch. This self-holding circuit releases the switch from the self-holding when a voltage of the control circuit lowers to not more than a turn-on voltage of the switch. Therefore, when an applied voltage decreases too low to maintain the turn-on status, the switch is released from its self-holding. A voltage can thus never be applied again to the control circuit unless the starter signal is once turned off. As a result, a coil of the switch is completely free from being burnt out.

Description

[0001] The present invention is a divisional application of the No. 98122550.0 patent application filed on November 20, 1998, entitled "welding machine and electromagnetic switch adopted therefor". technical field [0002] The present invention relates to welding machines, and more particularly to preventing burnout of an electromagnetic switch for switching on and off the input current of the welding machine. Background technique [0003] In the past, most welding machines that used electromagnetic switches to switch input power have been practically used. When welding is not performed, an electromagnetic switch is used to prevent waste of excitation current supplied to the main transformer, etc. [0004] Figure 6 can be used to illustrate the conventional welding machine that adopts the electromagnetic switch to switch the input power. Fig. 6 is a main wiring circuit diagram showing a welding main transformer, an electromagnetic switch and a main wiring circuit for contro...
