Abstract

The invention is applied between physical interface and exchange interface of ATM transmission node with UTOPIA interface for transferring cells. In incoming direction, cell receiver receives cells from physical interface based on time sequence. The cell write buffer controller stores the received cells into dual ports RAM in cell buffer. Transmission speed controller controls interval of cells to be transmitted. The cell read buffer controller reads out cells from dual ports RAM in cell buffer based on cell reading request of the cell transmitter. The cell transmitter sends cells read to exchange interface according to requirement of sending time sequence. In outgoing direction, form exchange interface to physical interface, the processing is as above said. Buffer is added in UTOPIA physical chain in order to control speed, reduces paroxysmal flux.
