Abstract

We describe a voltage level encoding system and method. The voltage level encoding system includes a level encoder having an input receiving a data segment encoded with a first code and providing a second data code indicative of one of 2N plus at least one additional voltage level output, where each data segment is assigned to each voltage level. The converter code-converts the second data into such voltage levels. This voltage level is provided at the output of the converter. The method for encoding digital data includes: determining a first data transition, generating a code including at least one data asymmetry minimization in the first data transition; and encoding the first data with an additional level in the code Transitions are encoded.
